We were recently called to a home in a Village called Kineton to clean & restore a beautiful looking Travertine Stone Floor, We were presented with a few challenges on this stone floor but there’s nothing that your local Travertine Restorers In Kineton cannot deal with.The floor was past looking at its best and was look extremely dull and the natural colours had become washed out, it now needed professional help to restore the stone to make it look like brand new again; another problem that we found along the way were the natural holes which you find in Travertine had not been filled and were now trapping dirt and proving difficult to clean.
Kineton Travertine Stone Floor Cleaning And Hole Filling:
We started this job first action needed was to strip the floor due to the condition that the grout and holes were in, this is really a strong alkaline product normally used for stripping sealers but it’s also a very effective cleaning solution so to save time we used this strong product.The grout was also given a thorough scrub during this challenging work and once, that was done the soiled was extracted from the floor. After we inspected and the holes in the Travertine were filled using a special Travertine filler that fills all the holes ensuring they will never let dirt inside them again.
The next step was to restore the Travertine with a special rotary machine for this type of stone floor with four special pad diamonds,with different levels of diamond grits building up the finish with a medium, fine and super fine pad until you have restored the floor. In this case the customer wanted a hone finish, so we only went with 2 pad diamonds which was 200 grit and 400 grit.This not only restores the floor but also blends the Travertine filler added earlier into the holes of the stone so it’s impossible to tell the holes have been filled (looking like brand new again); This process is a very skilled stage as we need need to use low amount of water which is used to lubricate the process and in-between each pad the resultant slurry is rinsed away, once this is done the floor is given a thorough rinse and extracted at the same time. Then we leave it to dry for usually 2 or 3 days
Travertine Floor Sealing In Kineton:
We returned about 3 days after allowing the floor to dry so sealer can bond onto the pores of the stone, the floor was moisture checked to ensure it had dried out properly, the floor was dry so we sealed it using two saturations of the sealing solution which is an impregnating sealer that fills the pores of the stone to prevent any dirt from being ingrained there.
